Currently employed as a full-time lecturer at the University of Damascus, Dr. Mohammad Omar Khattab is an outstanding researcher and committed educator. Having worked in financial mathematics for more than 14 years, he shares his knowledge with pupils. In addition, Dr. Khattab teaches part-time at the Economic and Social Planning Institute (ESPI) in Damascus.
Dr. Khattab has a solid academic background, having graduated from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany with a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics and Statistical Methods for Finance. He is interested in many different fields of research, such as econometrics, machine learning, image processing, financial time series, and stochastic geometry.
In his capacity as a researcher at the German Fraunhofer Institute, he made contributions to economic and industrial mathematics. Dr. Khattab actively supervises students in the fields of statistics and economic planning,
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Omar Khattab has lectured at the Arab International University, the Syrian Virtual University (SVU), and the Economic & Social Planning Institute (ESPI).
