Reputably successful in academia, Andreas Costas is an Associate Professor at the University of Cyprus, located in Nicosia, Cyprus. Throughout his career, spanning more than nine years, Andreas has significantly advanced the discipline of computer science.

Andreas has been an Associate Professor since 2021. Before that, from September 2015 to April 2021, he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Cyprus. His extensive background and range of experience demonstrate his commitment to both research and teaching.

Andreas demonstrated his global academic involvement during his eight months as an Assistant Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam/VU prior to joining the University of Cyprus. His positions as a Marie Curie Fellow at Columbia University for three years, a Research Assistant at FORTH for five years, and a Collaborating Researcher at the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) for almost a year all serve to demonstrate his collaborative and research-oriented approach further.

Andreas started his academic career with a strong background in physics, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science from the Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon. After that, he continued higher study in computer science, earning a master's degree in 2006 and a doctorate in computer science at Panepistimio Kritis in 2011.

His 2007 research intern job at Microsoft Research, Cambridge, further demonstrates his dedication to expanding the field's understanding. Andreas has demonstrated a strong interest in cutting-edge research throughout his career and has made significant contributions to the academic community.

Andreas began his academic career at the Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon in 2002, having completed his studies with a solid grounding in physics. Following that, he pursued further education in computer science, graduating from Panepistimio Kritis with a master's degree in 2006 and a PhD in 2011.

His commitment to deepening the field's expertise is further evidenced by his 2007 position as a research intern at Microsoft Research, Cambridge. Throughout his career, Andreas has shown a keen interest in cutting-edge research and has significantly impacted the academic community.
